CFM currently manages 300,000 square feet of school space and has undertaken projects totaling $20M in 2009.
New York City
CFM is currently engaged in a Facility Development and Project Management contract with the Bronx Lighthouse Charter School located in Bronx, NY. A new 30,000 square foot building will be completed in July 2011 to serve the school’s College Prep Academy (grades 9-12). Land has been acquired and a construction financing commitment for $12M in New Market Tax Credits has been secured by CFM. For this project, CFM has taken the lead role in the selection of the architect and space/specification planning of this new and state of the art facility which will include a gym. Of the 30,000 total square feet, 22,000 will be built off site to save costs and time in the construction process.
Jacksonville, Arkansas
CFM is providing ongoing Construction & Facility Expansion Services for the (start-up) Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School. In early 2010, CFM closed out the construction of a new 28,000 square foot pre-engineered building on a seven acre site which currently serves grades K-7. Permanent financing for this facility was obtained at favorable rates. CFM is now planning the facility expansion plan for grades 8-12.
East Chicago, Indiana
CFM has recently (August 2010) purchased a former Catholic School/Church complex for lease and expansion for the East Chicago Lighthouse Charter School. The purchase financing included improvements that were made to the school building in June/July 2010 and the rest of the property is being evaluated for renovation to house the College Prep Academy expansion.
Indianapolis, Indiana
Over the past two years, CFM has added 20,000 square feet of program space to the Monument Lighthouse Charter School campus. In early 2009, CFM purchased this facility and adjacent land to lease to the school. This expansion project consists of a new, pre-engineered building and entry that houses ten new classrooms and labs to accommodate children up to the 12th Grade. Interior upgrades to the existing building include additional offices, energy conversation measures and improvements to the gymnasium. Site development includes an athletic field.
Gary, Indiana
In February 2009, CFM received $21M in financing including $15M in tax-exempt bond financing which funded CFM’s to purchase of facilities previously developed by CFM for the Gary Lighthouse Charter School and the West Gary Lighthouse Charter School. This financing also provided the funding for the Monument Lighthouse Charter School in Indianapolis.

CFM provides Facility Repair, Facility Maintenance, Purchasing and Procurement Services for Lighthouse Academies managed schools located in Washington, DC; Indianapolis, IN; Gary, IN; East Chicago, IN and Jacksonville, AR. CFM services these schools with the best possible prices for the purchase of their furniture, technology, equipment, textbooks, nursing supplies, janitorial supplies, office supplies, and other items such as special ed and busing services as deemed necessary for the school. CFM is also providing Inventory Services and FF&E installation to the schools for adding value their procurement needs. These schools house children from grades from K-10th grade
